Vintage Notes

  • Harvest Date: March 2013, hand-harvested
  • Fermentation: Small batch, open top fermenters, wild yeasts
  • Oak: 100% French Oak
  • Alcohol: 13.4%

Cellar Notes

The grapes were hand-harvested and further sorted to ensure clean fruit. The grapes were fermented in small open top fermenters with wild yeast. The wine was plunged up to three times daily during fermentation with about one week post fermentation masceration before being pressed to French Oak Barriques for maturation. Natural malo-lactic fermentation was completed in spring. The wine spent a year in the Barriques before it was bottled. It was left to cellar before releasing March 2015. 

Tasting Notes

This wine has bouquet of dark brambly fruit, with a spicy edge, and a touch of wood smoke on the nose. Soft supple tannin structure in harmony with acid driving the palette and gentle oak supporting. Primary focus, flavourful and tasty!  Great with food and for further cellaring.
